来自美国宇航局 (NASA) 的太空发射系统运载火箭 (SLS) 和来自 SpaceX 公司的星舰是当前世界上排名前两位的运载火箭,这两个看上去势均力敌的运载火箭无论是运载能力(近地轨道运载能力都在 100 吨左右)还是任务目标(都准备载人前往月球和火星)都十分相似,因此,谁能抢占时机先发射并取得成功就变得尤为重要——特别是对 NASA 这样一个太空领域的老牌选手而言,如果被新晋选手 SpaceX 抢先成功发射了星舰,心里一定会酸酸的~
在 2021 年 06 月 09 日完成 SLS 运载火箭两个助推器的安装之后,NASA 马不停蹄地就开始了 SLS 核心级的吊装工作:
